I haven’t really had time to write on topics that is dear to my heart and yours because life has been really lifing and I feel like this has been the norm for everyone or mostly everyone. I go to work and my colleagues are burnt out and overworked. I speak to my friends and they share about their mortgages increasing with no extra money insight to cover the cost. Our outgoings have increased and salaries are still the same. Everyone is looking for a side hustle or two. Christmas is soon approaching and the stresses of life doesn’t seem to be getting better. Some people suggest that it’s the end of the world and God is coming that’s why life is so difficult. They suggest that this is the final test. I don’t believe that at all but I have considered the idea.
For me I’m taking each day by day. Some days each hour by hour and each task by task. I try not to overwhelm myself with the vastness of the things I have to do or places I have to go. I try not to focus on the things that are not going well and continue to practice gratitude because gratitude is a must. I have become strategic at accepting or declining invites to events and pencilling time for important rest.
We’re not machines we can’t just keep going. Even machines needs charging or batteries replaced. Self care and rest should be a prerogative.
Self care can be simple as cooking yourself a nice healthy meal. One of my friends loves to try out new recipes and plate it to restaurant standards and I love that for her. I don’t have the time or the patience I just want to eat. If I could skip the cooking part I would. What works for me is going for walks and being outside in nature.
Even though we’re facing all these challenges however big or small, the economy is economising and life is really lifing. We’ve got each other we’re all in this together. Check on your friends, family and colleagues. Send them some words of affirmation and positivity. Comment below any self care tips you found that works for you or words of affirmation that you repeat to yourself to help you get through challenges.
